Kitchen Safety

Pots and pans, greasy foods and cooking oil can overheat and cause fire very easily if the person cooking gets distracted and leaves cooking unattended.  Here are some tips to keep you safe while in the kitchen:

  • Always stay in the room

  • Ask someone to watch your food while cooking

  • It’s important to have a charged fire extinguisher near the kitchen in case of fire

  • Maintain smoke detectors on all levels of your home
